NJ DAYCARE CARE ASSISTANCE

As you are undoubtedly aware, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Children and Families (DCF) have adopted new environmental laws which require immediate compliance. These laws require that you certify your sites history to the DCF, in as far as former tenants are concerned, and the environmental conditions of your site.

Let our 25 years of experience help to summarize these requirements and offer our services to simplify compliance with these laws. The law requires immediate compliance with the following:

  • Certification that the center provides safe drinking water and complies with all DCF regulations concerning radon, lead and asbestos.
  • Certification as to whether or not your facility is in a building that ever housed a business classified as any of the following: a nail salon or dry cleaner, Storage, “High hazard” or Factory/industrial according to the Uniform Construction Code.
  • If your site housed one of the above, then soil sampling and indoor air sampling will be required.
  • If your site is located in the same building as a dry cleaner or nail salon, indoor air sampling will be required.
  • Finally, effective June 1, 2007, a full “Preliminary Assessment Report” must be submitted to the NJDEP resulting in a “no further action” letter before the Department of Children and Families will issue any license (renewals, relocation and new applications).
